This weekend we welcome a relic of St Carlo Acutis, the first millennial saint! But who was he?

St Carlo Acutis (1991-2006) used the internet to promote Catholic devotion. He taught himself programming and web design, and helped his parish and school with digital projects.

Beatified in 2020, he officially became a Saint in 2025.

The first millennial to become a Saint, he’s sometimes called “God’s influencer” and, because of his love for video games, the “gamer saint.”

This is the website of eucharistic miracles he created.

Here’s an interview with St Carlo’s mother:

Events kick off with a Mass this Sunday (7 June) at 10am at Sacred Heart Cathedral (40 Hill Street, Thorndon in Wellington).

Everyone is welcome – hope to see you there!
