Thank you to everyone who attended and helped organise the Housing Election Forum 2026.
Church leaders, community voices, and political representatives from several parties came together on Wednesday, 23 September at Wellington Cathedral of St Paul for a unique forum discussing housing in Aotearoa New Zealand.
As Archbishop Paul said on the evening, “We need to continue to see with fresh eyes the dignity of every person who is suffering, every person who is our neighbour for whom individually and as a society, together, we are called to show care and concern.”
As he also said: “For us as Christians, we remember Jesus never judged people for their circumstances. And neither should we.”
You can watch a recap of the livestream here:
Let’s work together to ensure we all have safe, warm and dry homes, that we may see the shared humanity and dignity in one another, and pray that our leaders may act for the good of people, especially the marginalised, and be part of the solution to ensuring we can all have a home.
