It was an emotional day on Saturday, 17 October, as the Porirua community said farewell to the Sisters of the Missionaries of Chairty at Holy Family Church.
Among those at the Mass were Cardinal John and Archbishop Paul.
The congregation had been discerning where God is calling them to be and what are the needs of the poor. As a result, the Sisters have decided to open a new house in East Timor and to finish their ministry in Wellington and in two communities in Australia.
We thank the Sisters for their years of tireless service in our community, and pray for them on the next steps of their ministry.
